Known in the West as "the joke of Germany", the Trabant 601 was East Germany's main transportation from 1963 to 1990. Its polluting two-stroke was outdated in 1963 but by 1990 it pumped out a whopping 26 hp and a top speed of 62 mph! With power like that it's no wonder the Berlin Wall fell! This fine diecast is not only built better than the original…it's most likely faster!

    this is a fun little car for my collection to show the different choices around the world. I love the size various with it setting next to my 1078 ford f150. Great addition to anyone’s collection!

    You owe it to yourself to have this model in your collection for the sheer enjoyment of knowing that it had an in-line, air cooled, two cylinder, two stroke, oil burning engine just like some US lawn mowers, ie. Lawnboys! The engine is known for its simplicity and distinctive sound, contributing to the car's charm and appeal among enthusiasts. Can't you just smell the smoke, now?

    Anyone who ever traveled in East Germany and witnessed this automobile in motion owes it to themselves to own his model. It is a classic car and one that is historically important. For the price, this is a super bargain.
