The 101st Airborne Division known as the Screaming Eagles was a legendary U.S. Army unit during World War II specializing in airborne operations. Activated in 1942 the division trained rigorously for parachute and glider assaults emphasizing rapid aggressive infantry tactics behind enemy lines.
