About the Boss 429
Ford contracted Kar Kraft to modify the Mustang's engine bay to fit the 429 cubic-inch V8, factory-rated at 375 horsepower. Only 499 Boss 429 Mustangs were built for the 1970 model year, making it one of the rarest and most collectible Mustangs of the era. Its matte black hood scoop distinguishes 1970 cars from the body-colored scoops used in 1969.
