About the Comet GT
Mercury's 1971 Comet shared its structure with the Ford Maverick, and the GT package - available only on the two-door - added a 302 cid V-8 option good for 210 hp along with its blacked-out grille and hood scoop. Roughly 13,000 of the year's 70,000 Comets were built as GTs.
