The F-16A Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multi-role fighter aircraft developed by General Dynamics for the U.S. Air Force. Introduced in the late 1970s the F-16A was the first production model of the Falcon series. It features a frameless bubble canopy for excellent visibility side-stick control and a fly-by-wire system for superior agility. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney F100 engine it can reach speeds over Mach 2. The F-16A is capable of both air-to-air combat and precision ground attacks making it a versatile and cost-effective platform. It has served with numerous allied air forces around the world.
