The F-4 Phantom II is a twin-engine all-weather long-range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber developed by McDonnell Aircraft for the U.S. Navy and later adopted by the Air Force and Marine Corps. Introduced in the 1960s the F-4 became a symbol of American airpower during the Vietnam War.
