The F-5 Freedom Fighter is a lightweight supersonic jet developed by Northrop in the 1960s designed for affordability simplicity and effectiveness. Featuring twin engines and a sleek design it was capable of speeds over Mach 1.6 and excelled in air-to-air and air-to-ground roles. Armed with two 20mm cannons and various missiles and bombs the F-5 was ideal for both combat and training missions. Widely exported under U.S. military assistance programs it served in over 30 countries.
