About the CR.42 Falco
Developed by Fiat in the late 1930s following the success of the earlier CR.32 “Freccia” biplane, the CR.42 retained fixed landing gear and an open cockpit but introduced an all-aluminum and steel structure. Powered by a supercharged, air-cooled Fiat A.74 radial engine, it could reach roughly 400 km/h and was noted for its exceptional maneuverability.
