About the Lamborghini Gallardo
Introduced in 2003, the Gallardo was Sant'Agata Bolognese's first V10-engined production model, powered by a 5.0-liter V10 producing over 500 hp, later enlarged and boosted to 520 hp in updated versions. Its wedge-shaped styling was led by Lamborghini design chief Luc Donckerwolke, developed from initial concept work by Italdesign and drawing inspiration from the 1995 Lamborghini Cala concept. Capable of exceeding 300 km/h, the Gallardo became Lamborghini's best-selling model to date, with more than 14,000 built across coupe, Spyder and Superleggera versions before production ended in 2013.
