About this book
The A30 Challenger was a stopgap British tank design armed with the 17-pounder anti-tank gun, the same weapon used in the Sherman Firefly. Author Ivo van der Spoel reconstructs the September 20, 1944 tank battle near the Dutch village of Son, in which Cromwells and Challengers of the 15/19 Hussars, backed by American paratroopers, engaged Panther tanks of Panzerbrigade 107 and destroyed five of them during Operation Market Garden.
