About Adolf Galland
Galland was credited with 104 aerial victories over the Western Front, flying combat missions from the early years of the war through its final weeks. In November 1941, at age 30, he was named General of Fighters, making him the youngest general in the German military at the time. Late in the war he commanded Jagdverband 44, one of the first units to fly the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter in combat, after being removed from his general's post following disagreements with Hermann Goring.
