About Hap Arnold
Trained to fly by the Wright brothers and among the U.S. military's first pilots, Arnold oversaw the massive wartime expansion of the U.S. Army Air Forces and its strategic bombing campaigns. In 1949 he became the only officer ever to hold the five-star rank of General of the Air Force.
