About the Wright Brothers
Orville and Wilbur Wright were American bicycle makers turned aviation pioneers who achieved the first successful powered, controlled airplane flight near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, in 1903. Their work developing wind tunnels, efficient propellers, and a three-axis control system laid the foundation for practical powered flight.
